Separated By Distance…and memory modulation
Like Real People Do: Long Distance Relationships Division is an extension of the world of previous Like Real People Do iterations produced by LDT, each having their own unique perspective on modern love and memory. LRPD - LDRD is exactly what it says it is: an examination of long distance relationships in a time when we all are being forced to deal with them more often and look at them more closely.
This particular version of LRPD was originally conceived for the Here Festival, a pilot festival for showcasing immersive work at the Pasadena Playhouse in March of 2020; however, just like the conference was moved to an online forum, we decided to adapt this piece to fit the new reality we all find ourselves in.
LRPD - LDRD is an online, solo experience that is highly interactive and episodic. Over the course of 4 episodes, each lasting approximately 30 mins, you will delve into the world of The Department of Manhattan Memory and explore how distance, timing, trust, and communication affect our relationships and our memories of those relationships. Presented on the Zoom platform, this iteration of LRPD requires a good internet connection and a device (a computer is highly recommended but a phone will work as well) that can support a web chat, both audio and video. It also incorporates some light ARX elements conducted over email for those who wish to interact more. All four episodes now take place over the course of one week at the same time each day. Space is very limited for this 1:1 show so we encourage you to apply quickly if you are interested. Not to worry if you don’t get a spot though, more tickets will continue to be released on a rolling basis. If you have any content questions or need to speak to someone ‘out of world,’ please email linkeddancetheatre@gmail.com. All other email communications will be conducted ‘in world.’
